Century® productsIn the 1960's, Century® Archival Products explored the use of acid free paper and materials to create unique archival storage products to preserve and protect valuable documents. In 1979, Century® began a line of archival storage boxes and supplies made from a new solid fiber, acid free, lignin free boxboard.
Besides eliminating or reducing unwanted chemicals and impurities that can contaminate and damage a box's contents, boxes produced by Century® Archival Products create a micro-climate and provide some protection against swings in temperature and humidity, as well as a barrier to dust, dirt, and pollutants.
In addition to using carefully selected and tested archival materials, Century® has invested thousands of dollars developing efficient manufacturing methods to provide products that are considered the best available today by photographers, artists, archivists, conservators, genealogists and collectors worldwide. For total quality assurance, all our products are made by us in our factory in Richmond, Virginia, USA.
Understanding both the chemistry of box materials and the needs of the archivist, Century® engineers and builds boxes that provide a protective and stable acid-free environment for film and digital images, microfilm records, artwork, and other collectables. The Century® line now includes the most complete range of formats and sizes of portfolio boxes and albums available.
